About Us
The family of our hotel’s female leadership is deeply connected to this locality; all their ancestors are from here and lived here. These roots and connections are still alive today; we continue to nurture and maintain them, never forgetting our origins and traditions. We return to this beautiful Swabian village from nearby Sárospatak and cities farther away alike.
The picturesque village was established in the 1750s by Swabian families who were resettled from German-speaking areas. They started new lives here with diligence and perseverance, shaping and transforming their environment.
The characteristic cellar rows of the village, which were built on both ends of the town, were essential for the inhabitants, as almost all of them were engaged in agriculture and viticulture.

Refreshment for the Senses
When selecting the location for our hotel, our primary criterion was to find a place that offers a picturesque panorama of the Zemplén mountains and transports those seeking relaxation into the magical world of vineyard hills.
We succeeded in creating a building where each room, equipped with all modern comforts, offers a view of the natural wonders of the area:
The ground floor room for guests with limited mobility and the first-floor rooms have separate balconies. The hotel has its own private parking, a shared terrace, and a garden with a majestic view of the vineyard hills.
In our restaurant, we offer a rich gastronomic and culinary experience for our guests, often combined with thematic wine tastings.
The tourist attractions and landmarks of Zemplén and Tokaj-Hegyalja are attractive destinations for our guests. Wine enthusiasts can explore the mysterious and beautiful world of wines and winemaking in the hotel’s wine bar, terrace, or in the cool tasting rooms of nearby cellars.
Our wellness area also aids relaxation, where tired guests can enjoy the experiences offered by the sauna and jacuzzi indoors, and the comfort of outdoor tub baths.

The Roots of Hotel Kőporos Hercegkút
Our family still owns vineyards around the village and a cellar for aging wine from our vineyards, located in the southeastern part of the village on the Gombos-hegyi cellar row. This cellar row, with its four-level layout, is now considered a symbol of the Tokaj-Hegyalja region.
The cellar is a family heritage, honoring the manual labor of our grandfather. He started shaping the branches of the cellar, carved into tuff, in the mid-1980s, typically during winter when outdoor work was not possible. Even then, many villagers and tourists stopped by to admire his creative work, which makes our cellar unique. Later, at the initiative of our father, a guest reception area was developed in front of the cellar in the early 2000s.
The Kőporosi vineyard is located in the northwestern part of the village. Our hotel was built adjacent to the winding Kőporosi cellar rows, offering a picturesque view of the Zemplén mountain ranges, nearby Király-hill, Megyer-hely slopes, and the distant tent-shaped hills.
